The thing is this game does have bases and or outposts, and they generate resources, or give you an allocation of points to increase your unit cap. Just because a game does not have you building buildings, does not magically not make an RTS or any less of once. Ok this game is not Command & Conquer, but then that is the same as saying Halo is not Call of Duty, they are both FPS's, one if not an FPS because you have shields in one game, but not the other. Have you played the demo, if yes, you say this "Usually these type of games have resource management and base building" as if you haven't because ok you can't build yourself but, that's never been indicative of the RTS genre and I can say that because I was alive and playing RTS games like Dune when that first came out and then other RTS's of the same time period that had no base building. Point is they are all squad based games with no or very limited base building that have all very much been a major part of the genre. This, Dawn of war 2 and Ground Control on the smaller scale up to Wargame and Steel division on the larger scale. There are many strategy games out there with no base building. You are trying to claim this is so far behind and when presented with other squad based games with no base building you go "ah no no I'm going to arbitrarily decide they are different." They are strategy games with no base building. Usually these type of games have resource management and base building. This one seems to be more of a survival genre rts where you hold on against enemy waves while trying to eliminate your enemies.
How on earth are you even bringing up steel division of men of war in this discussion lol Is your knowledge of the genre basically limited to the Command and Conquer series, Age of Empires and Starcraft.?
